WOMEN CAN DRIVE IN KSA!!!
Beginning in June 2018, the restrictions preventing women from driving in Saudi Arabia will be lifted, marking a historic step towards women’s rights in the Gulf Kingdom, the only country in the world that bans women drivers. Because of the law, many families have had to employ private drivers at a costly household expense to provide additional transportation for women and children.
The royal decree will also give women the ability to take driving lessons without first obtaining permission from a male relative and the freedom to drive anywhere they choose, making it easier for women to participate in the workplace. The decree is in line with a program called Vision 2030, promoted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, to improve the Saudi economy and modernize Saudi society. It will take effect June 24, 2018.
